the scene with them holding each other's hands, nuzzling and feeling each other's faces actually did serve a purpose in that end to get across non-verbally their feelings. Or as u/flwr_doya more eloquently than me put it: Also, the very next, non-verbal scene which is like giving a vow of being there for each other. The title (nubsib ja joop - count to ten and I'll kiss you) and the song all coming together in the most moving scene ever, where they are reunited, and they kiss, kiss, kiss. After all, isn't it shamelessly up there in the (Thai) title?Īnd what a brilliant way to tie it all together. And this is what Gene and Nubsib do, oh, so wonderfully. They want and need to kiss, to hug, to touch, to have sex. And adults are not okay with just longing stares and nods. But it is not really a "Boys" love, it is a love between adults. (Of course to the point it can be, having some genre fail-safes).

But for me this is a series that transcends its "BL" label. I know each and every one of us have different taste and expectations, in regards to pacing and execution. What I liked most was the connection between Gene and Nubsib throughout the series.
It had it's (many) ups and (a few) downs but now that it's ended it leaves me with a warm feeling that I didn't expect when I started watching back in February.

Ok, not 100% perfect, but tell me a piece of fiction (be it a book, a comic, a film, or a tv series) that you don't find any flaws in, whatsoever.
This was the perfect ending for a perfect series. Because for me it is on a whole league of its own. I'd say that Lovely Writer goes to the top of my BL list, but I think that would be a great disservice. But I'm glad other people did enjoy it for what it is! 😅 However realistic it may be, I don't deal well with characters I care about getting a tragic ending. He may not have been a good guy but I don't think he's that bad, either, and what with his family background, I still feel more sorry for him than I'm angry at him for his mistakes. It's just that for me, I cared far too much about him for this not to be heartbreaking. I definitely agree with your general analysis of what can go down in the entertainment business and I can see how this relates to Aey. I mean, I do actually appreciate the idea as such and I do think it's cute that they included the author! No, that's how I understood it as well, it just feels like meta within meta and was one step too far for me personally, I guess, haha. That ending (pre-ending) them kissing and looking at the camera AND RAISING THE EYEBROWS ANDKASDASOIFJASFLADOJF i lost it. Especially with celebrity culture, if someone is famous or has lots of money others say they can't complain about having mental health problems because "YOU HAVE A LOT OF MONEY, YOU HAVE EVERYTHING, YOU MUST BE HAPPY" (really, I see those kinds of comments on celebrity posts EVERY time). That is something that we, as people, should not underestimate. It's sad but it feels so real, many pretend to be bubbly when in reality they are so broken. It showed me that even if he has thousands of fans and he is receiving people's love, that does not mean that his life will be all happiness and perfection. I'm glad there wasnt a happy ending for everyone as expected in BLs. It's not his fault that his parents are trash but appareantly he wasnt a good guy either. He is a broken soul, I bet there are millions out there with a career in the enterteiment who are miserable in the inside and I think Aeoy is one of them. I see that many of you are dissatisfied with aeoy's ending. Well mayb e 1, I do too would have wanted Sib and Gene talk a little more after the 4month break but that's it. I LOVED this episode! I think is the best finale i've seen in a series that I dont have any complaints. I would even say that Gene and Nubsib arent real people. like character Gene wrote a novel in LW universe but Rosa is the mastermind of everything. like the whole serie we just saw it was written by her (not gene). I took it as Gene and Nubsib were product of Rosa's imagination (writer at the end). Though a bit confusing with Gene supposedly writing their story.
